During the war conservation and recycling were very important. This poster got the point across that your scraps could make a contribution to the war effort. It shows a German bomber going down in flames and "YOUR SCRAP.. brought it down" over the top of it. It urges people to "KEEP SCRAPPING -- Iron and Steel -- Rubber -- All other Metals -- Rags -- Move all Scrap NOW!" I think rags were made in the production of several different things, clothing, and packaging. This will probably be the only time the government ask people to turn in their rags.
