Uranus is a pretty bland planet to look at. If you have skies that are dark enough you can see Uranus with binoculars. Uranus has 15 moons that we know of. Even though it is very far from the sun we have learned some interesting things about Uranus. The axis of Uranus is tilted almost 98 degrees. This means that it's poles are very close to the plane of its orbit around the sun. The poles point alternately toward the sun, this means that one pole gets light from the sun for 42 years, and then the other pole gets light for 42 years. How would you like a 42 year long winter? Uranus has rings but you can't see them from Earth unless you have an extremely powerful telescope, and then you can only see them by watching them block the light from stars behind Uranus. IF you could get out to Uranus on summer vacation the only place to camp out would be Uranus' largest moon, Titania, and it's only 1,000 miles in diameter. Looking back to Earth from Uranus you would see the Earth as a dim point of light.
