In the early part of the war the German U-Boats where operating off the US east coast with little or no resistance. Ships were being sunk within site of land. Security became very important. Workers in the docks were told not to mention where a ship was going or what time it was going to sail. The fear was that enemy agents would hear people talking and then relay that information to waiting U-Boats which would wait for the ship. This poster stresses the need for silence. This ship has been attacked and it's crew forced to abandon ship because someone talked.
